This position will focus on supporting the Ameritas enterprise commercial mortgage lending and real estate practice areas. Contribute on other duties as assigned. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills and accuracy. The ideal candidate is a lifelong learner, accountable to deadlines, and a team player. This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.
What you do:
Regularly act as a point of contact and interface with internal associates and business leaders, and persons outside of Ameritas, including title insurance companies, mortgage bankers and borrower representatives. Assist attorneys with a variety of legal tasks associated with commercial mortgage lending transactions including, but not limited to, the preparation of commercial loan documents, reviewing and summarizing ALTA surveys, title insurance commitments, exception documents and other ancillary documentation as well as preparing written responses. Review and analyze borrower entity and loan authorization documentation and summarize for attorneys. Provide document preparation and related support for the enterprise's commercial real estate leasing, acquisition, and disposition activities as well as joint venture arrangements. Monitor, track and handle various aspects of commercial mortgage loan and real estate transactions, both pre-closing as well as post-closing follow-up. Regularly handle sensitive and/or confidential materials with the utmost confidence and highest ethical standards.
What you bring:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Paralegal studies or other post high school degree desired. 1-2 years of experience in a paralegal, underwriter, escrow agent, or loan officer assistant or other role with a similar skillset required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (with an emphasis on Microsoft Word) required. Real estate and/or commercial mortgage lending or title insurance experience preferred. Familiarity or experience with HotDocs Advance, or similar document generation programs, preferred.
