Primary role will be assisting attorney with caseload primarily made up of estate planning, real estate, and business transactions. Additional support for attorneys in other practice areas will also be required on occasion.
Required Skills:
Screen new clients, run conflict checks, and schedule potential new clients in accordance with office procedures; maintain attorney's calendar with both internal deadlines and appointments and court dates and deadlines; organize and maintain electronic client files as primary record keeping system; prioritize and self-manage multiple tasks; collaborate with other staff members in the office as a team; strong writing and editing skills; excellent organizational skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook (including calendar function), Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF software; experience operating facsimile and copy machines; ability to maintain confidentiality. Requires professional skills in maintaining confidential and prompt communications with clients, clear and effective communications with court judicial assistants and clerks and opposing attorneys, and managing all electronic filings of pleadings in an accurate and timely manner with superior courts.
Education/Experience:
Microsoft Office:
1 year High school or equivalent (required) Associate's degree OR paralegal certificate OR 2 years equivalent experience in family law or civil litigation (strongly preferred) Experience with online filing through Pierce County Superior Court's LINX system strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Pierce County Superior Court Local Rules (preferred)
