Star Equipment Ltd. is looking for a parts and rental counter person for our Ames, Iowa location, at 2100 E Lincoln Way.

We are a construction equipment distributor. We have been in the market for 50 years, and are a family-owned company. We sell and service major brands including Husqvarna, Multiquip, Gehl, Mustang, Takeuchi and Schwing. You will be handling walk-in and phone customers, counter sales of rental, parts sales. We are willing to train the right candidate for the job.

Job Responsibilities:

Greet walk-in customers, answer phone calls Process all in-store transactions: equipment, parts, supplies Stock parts in parts bins & display areas Price items on display floor. shipping and receiving. Check out rental equipment to customer, demonstration operation of equipment. Price local parts and services to get the best price and quality for the shop Issue purchase orders for the items, post to the job or if supplies for the shop forward to accounting. Housekeeping daily; building maintenance as needed. Cross train where possible. Other misc. duties as needed.

Personal Qualifications:

Ability to operate delivery equipment Ability to Lift 100 lbs General Knowledge of Construction Equipment Clean Driving Record Basic computer skills Prior experience at automotive parts counter would be ideal.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
