Job Description

Guitar Tech and Returns Hours:
Monday-Friday 7am-4pm
Rate:
$17.00 •Candidate must apply in person at: 12914 Stateline Rd, Olive Branch MS Summary This role is responsible for quality assurance, inventory control, and daily tasks within the Enhanced Services Department, as well as assisting other departments as needed. Primary Responsibilities Maintain a high standard of quality control while inspecting instruments by performing the following: Inspect each instrument for finish flaws or aesthetic imperfections. Check the neck, bridge, tuners, and any other components that may be loose or improperly fitted. Test pickup systems. Adjust intonation. Evaluate playability. Inspect case integrity. Ensure serial numbers, SKUs, and product descriptions match the corresponding paperwork. Conduct repairs, setups, and electronic troubleshooting. Monitor, track, and record guitar repairs and inspections. Promote cleanliness and safety within the studio. Repair and perform complete setups on stringed instruments deemed defective. Instruments include electric guitars, acoustic guitars, electric basses, acoustic basses, banjos, mandolins, and specialty models. Secondary Responsibilities Locate and process RMA return items in a timely and accurate manner. Document the condition of returned products and determine the appropriate inventory disposition. Test products (if the factory seal has been broken) and all associated components to verify the integrity of returned merchandise. Perform any necessary restoration on returned items, as applicable. Assist with supplemental work in the warehouse environment to support overall company goals, needs, and success. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of guitar-playing experience, with the ability to tune instruments to pitch quickly and efficiently. Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Basic guitar repair and setup knowledge, including: Proper neck sighting and adjustment Proper action adjustment Minor electronic repairs Fret leveling Hardware replacement, when needed Machine head installation Preferred Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook). Experience using warehouse RF devices. Experience with RMA processing (returns) and quality control. Previous experience with inventory management systems.
