Equipment Rental Counter Associate Job Summary:

The Equipment Rental Counter Associate is responsible for assisting customers with equipment rentals, processing rental contracts, and ensuring safe handling of equipment. This role combines customer service, administrative duties, and physical work, including loading and unloading rental equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers in selecting appropriate rental equipment based on their needs Prepare, review, and process rental contracts accurately Explain rental terms, usage instructions, and safety procedures to customers Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle payments, deposits, and returns Inspect equipment before and after rental for damage, cleanliness, and functionality Load and unload equipment for customers using proper safety procedures Maintain an organized and clean rental counter and yard area Coordinate with service/maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and readiness Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and schedule reservations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus Basic computer skills and ability to learn rental software systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment (often 50+ lbs) Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

Preferred Skills:

Experience with equipment rental or construction tools Familiarity with safety practices and basic equipment operation Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)

Work Environment:

Combination of office/front counter and outdoor yard setting Interaction with customers, delivery personnel, and service technicians

Pay:

$41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
