Shee Atika Inc. is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Greeter to be the first point of contact for guests at Sheet'ká Rainforest Park. This position is responsible for creating a warm, inviting atmosphere while sharing basic information about the park, its cultural significance, and available experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys engaging with people, has strong communication skills, and values cultural respect and authenticity. This position is part-time seasonal and will begin April 1st and continue through mid-October 2026. "Sheet'ká Rainforest Park is a cultural and natural destination that celebrates the beauty of Southeast Alaska and honors the heritage of the Tlingit people. Home to immersive experiences like Treetop Adventure Tours and Salmon Tales, our mission is to provide visitors with authentic connections to the land, the community, and the stories that make Sitka unique— through guided tours, cultural programs, high-quality food and exceptional hospitality." The greeter will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to: Welcome Guests Greet visitors with warmth and professionalism. Provide directions and assist with check-in for tours or activities. Share Information Offer an overview of the park's features, cultural exhibits, attractions and walking trails. Answer questions about amenities, schedules, and local attractions. Customer Service Assist with ticketing and reservations as needed. Handle inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously. Coordinate and assist with guest transportation throughout the park, including acting as a walking guide as needed and providing support for visitors with varying mobility needs. Process payments. Safety & Cleanliness Monitor visitor flow and ensure safety guidelines are followed. Maintain a tidy and welcoming entrance area. Cultural Storytelling Introduce visitors to the cultural significance of the rainforest, ocean and tidelands, highlighting their connection to Tlingit heritage. Share stories about local traditions, language, and culture in a respectful and engaging way. Serve as an ambassador for local culture, ensuring every interaction reflects respect and authenticity.Requirements:
Minimum Candidate Requirements Candidate must have authorization to work for any US employer without employer sponsorship. Candidate must have customer service experience Candidate must have knowledge of Sitka's history (Tlingit culture is a plus, not required - training will be provided) Candidate must have ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors Candidate must have experience with, or willing to learn point-of-sales (POS) systemsAbout SAI:
