Retail Associate Hardgoods Expert Arizona Snowbowl - FLAGSTAFF, AZ 86002
Apply Overview Position Type Seasonal Apply Description Position Summary:
The Retail Hardgoods Expert is a specialized member of our retail team, responsible for providing best-in-class customer service while serving as a trusted authority on all things ski and snowboard. Based out of the Agassiz Pro Shop, this role goes beyond traditional retail sales to include expert knowledge of hardgoods products, rental setup, and involvement in maintaining our on-mountain demo program. This individual is expected to take initiative in running a clean, organized, and guest-ready shop environment, while also serving as an ambassador for the mountain—offering guidance on terrain, conditions, and resort amenities to help guests have an unforgettable experience. Additionally this team member will act as a guest service associate for basic guest needs such as: Selling tickets, printing season passes, solving guest issues (with support from the guest services department).
Qualifications Essential Functions:
Deliver exceptional, expectation-exceeding customer service with a welcoming and knowledgeable presence. Develop and maintain expert-level understanding of all ski and snowboard hardgoods brands and models we carry, including their technologies and ideal uses. Assist guests in selecting equipment that suits their skill level, goals, and preferences. Become certified to set up, adjust, and inspect rental skis and snowboards used in our demo program (training provided). Help manage and maintain the demo fleet by inspecting equipment for damage, wear, or necessary maintenance. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail space, taking initiative to ensure product displays and workstations are guest-ready at all times. Demonstrate working knowledge of the mountain and resort, including current conditions, trail recommendations, lift operations, lessons, and other services to help guide guest decisions. Complete opening and closing checklists daily.

Requirements:
Attend training held by retail manager and retail supervisor. Attend product clinics put on by company reps. Attend and complete hardgood tech training held by the rental manager. Familiarity with current hardgoods fleet, attained through training resources and hands on experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Cleaning/maintaining lodge and department areas such as windows, picking up trash, shoveling snow, etc.
Qualifications:
Top notch customer service skills. Enthusiastic about skiing, snowboarding, and the outdoor mountain lifestyle. Previous retail, rental, or customer service experience preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to attend Guest Service Training to better assist guests with issues, resort credits and season passes. Willingness and ability to become tech certified for ski/snowboard setup (training provided). Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to shop cleanliness and organization. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during peak season. Prior experience with ski/snowboard tuning or demo programs is a plus.
