Schedule:
Day shifts, approximately 9:00/10:00 AM to 5:00/6:00

Friday•Sunday preferred, with some flexibility based on business needs About Fishetarian Fishetarian Fish Market is a fast-paced, family-owned coastal restaurant and market located in Bodega Bay. We are known for sustainable seafood, excellent customer service, and our welcoming "Bummer-Free" guest experience. In addition to our restaurant, we also offer a growing retail and gift shop area featuring Fishetarian merchandise, coastal gifts, specialty foods, beverages, and curated local products. We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused team member with retail experience to help manage and support the gift shop portion of our business. Position Overview The Customer Service & Retail Gift Shop Associate will help create a welcoming and organized retail shopping experience for our guests. This position will focus on customer service, retail sales, merchandising, restocking, inventory awareness, and operating a handheld POS system for gift shop purchases. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong attention to detail, and understands how to keep a retail space clean, attractive, and easy to shop. Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and assist customers shopping in the retail/gift shop area Answer basic questions about merchandise, pricing, sizes, products, and availability Operate the handheld POS system for retail purchases Help prevent guests from having to wait in the main food line again for gift shop purchases Restock merchandise, beverages, hats, hoodies, shirts, gifts, specialty foods, and other retail items Keep displays clean, organized, dust-free, and visually appealing Monitor low-stock items and communicate inventory needs to management Assist with weekly inventory of retail and market items Help label, price, fold, hang, and organize merchandise Maintain a clean and welcoming shopping area throughout the shift Support retail sales during busy lunch and afternoon periods Work with management to improve merchandising and product placement Provide excellent customer service in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner Qualifications Prior retail experience preferred Ability to style and maintain a curated retail display Strong customer service skills Comfortable using a handheld POS system or willing to learn Friendly, approachable, and professional with guests Comfortable helping guests find sizing that works best for them Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Organized and detail-oriented Able to stand for long periods of time Able to lift and restock retail items as needed Comfortable working in a busy restaurant and market environment Weekend availability strongly preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone with previous retail, boutique, gift shop, or customer service experience who enjoys helping customers and creating an inviting shopping experience. This person should be proactive, friendly, and willing to take ownership of the retail area during busy days. We are looking for someone who understands that retail is an important part of the guest experience and can help us grow this department through better service, organization, and sales support. This person would be eager to work all weekends this summer and possibly Thursdays and Mondays in addition to Fridays•Sundays. Schedule Typical shifts will be approximately: 9:00/10:00 AM to 5:00/6:00 PM Weekend availability is important, especially Friday•Sunday, as these are our busiest retail and guest traffic days.
