Documentation and Inside Sales Support Clerk Cal Marine Fish Company San Pedro, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Full Job Description Job Summary This position will prepare, process, and maintain documentation related to domestic and international shipments, including coordinating the logistics of cargo to and from customers. Responsibilities Adhere to Cal Marine's Values published in the employee handbook. Generate, compile, and track all documentation including invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, health certificates and others to ensure compliance with export and import regulations in the global market in which we do business. Perform a thorough and documented review of each order to ensure compliance. Process sales work orders. Work with various ports and terminals resolving issues related to import/export of containers. Keep track of shipping status using assigned systems. Process packages for shipment via Fed Ex, UPS, or DHL services. Maintain successful relationships as needed with government agencies including USDC and FDA to facilitate required certificates of origin and/or export health certificates per destination requirements. Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Able to competently perform job duties described above efficiently and accurately, work independently and professionally and in a team environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work and interact effectively with other departments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be detail oriented.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook. Willingness and eagerness to learn new software programs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to creatively apply experience, common sense, and organizational skills to effectively manage the workflow. Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for longer periods of time than normal; use hands to handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance; and talk and hear. The employee must be able to move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
The work environment is an office environment but can require frequent involvement with plant operations. There may be time worked beyond business hours due to seasonal fluctuations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
