In this role, you'll be the face of our store, assisting shoppers with their needs, providing expert advice on plants, gardening tools, and outdoor supplies, and ensuring the sales floor is organized and inviting. The ideal candidate is passionate about gardening, outdoor work, and delivering top-notch customer service while working in a lively retail environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their gardening or outdoor needs. Provide expert plant identification and horticulture advice to help customers make informed choices. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, handle cash accurately, and process payments efficiently. Maintain the organization of merchandise through stocking, merchandising, and inventory management. Support floral design and plant arrangement services when needed to enhance customer offerings. Answer customer inquiries via phone or in person about product availability, gardening tips, or store services. Assist with outdoor work tasks such as lawn care and landscape maintenance to support store operations. Experience Previous retail sales experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, or gardening is highly valued. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math helps ensure smooth transactions. Multilingual skills are a plus for engaging with diverse customer groups. Strong communication skills to clearly explain product features and gardening techniques. Outdoor work experience enhances your ability to assist with landscaping or lawn care projects. A passion for floral design or plant identification can add extra value to the team.
