Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining the sales floor. Your ability to engage with customers, manage cash handling, and support merchandising efforts will contribute to an outstanding shopping experience in our grocery store environment. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure a well-organized sales floor. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance customer satisfaction. Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items and promotions. Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service. Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance on best practices in retail operations. Skills Proficient in using POS systems for efficient transaction processing. Previous supervising experience is a plus for team leadership roles. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases. Knowledge of retail sales techniques, including upselling and merchandising strategies. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Experience in grocery store operations is preferred but not required.
