Essential Hospitality Responsibilities Welcome and host guests for reserve tasting experiences, ensuring a warm, professional representation of the Auteur brand through authentic storytelling and engaging wine education. Build long-term client relationships that translate into direct-to-consumer sales and wine club memberships. Deliver elevated wine service with thoughtful communication and attention to the guest experience. Maintain a welcoming and polished environment within our hospitality space, including opening preparations and outdoor seating arrangements. Manage guest appointments through a shared team calendar while assisting with incoming reservations, phone calls, and email communications. Accurately enter orders into our POS system and manage the sales process through fulfillment and delivery. Experience with Commerce7, Tock, and WineShipping is a plus. Prepare daily tasting experiences by generating menus, setting wines and stemware, and collaborating with team members to ensure a seamless and inviting atmosphere. Assist management with winery projects, community outreach, and represent the winery at off-site tastings and events as needed. Maintain operational standards by polishing stemware, restocking inventory, monitoring property presentation, and coordinating with bussing staff during weekends and peak seasons. Qualifications and Skills Must be 21 years of age or older. 2+ years of experience in premium wine hospitality, fine dining service, or winery production preferred. Strong wine knowledge and passion for the industry; WSET or CMS certification is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to read guests and tailor experiences to individual preferences. Professional appearance with an engaging and enthusiastic personality. Food Handler and ABC certification required (or willingness to obtain). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing or moving for extended periods. Approximately 50% of service takes place outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable using computer systems and POS platforms; experience with Tock, Commerce7, and WineShipping is preferred. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining exceptional guest service. Flexible availability, including weekends and select holidays.
