Job Description
Overview We are seeking a friendly and energetic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and a passion for helping customers find the products they need. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop retail skills in a dynamic environment, with responsibilities including product demonstrations, merchandising, and stock management. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries and offering recommendations Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of items Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring products are well-stocked and attractive Stock shelves and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with accuracy Assist with phone inquiries, providing professional communication and support to customers Support supervising staff in daily operations as needed Promote store promotions and special offers to maximize sales Requirements Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar environments Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and retail math tasks Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer needs Experience with merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling, and supervising is advantageous Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed; prior retail or grocery store experience is beneficial
