We are a locally owned home décor and gift boutique known for our hand-poured soy candles, unique home décor, custom furniture and, most importantly, the personal experience we provide to every customer who walks through our doors. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys people, loves creating a welcoming shopping experience and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed. Our store can get very busy during the holidays, so this position is perfect for someone who is comfortable staying active, helping customers and working as part of a small team. Responsibilities Warmly greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service Help customers find home décor, gifts, candles and other products that fit their needs Answer product questions and make thoughtful recommendations Assist customers at checkout and operate the POS/register Help maintain beautiful, organized and well-stocked displays throughout the store Restock merchandise and help keep the sales floor clean and inviting Assist with unpacking, pricing and putting away incoming merchandise Wrap and prepare customer purchases and gifts Help with online order fulfillment when needed Work together with our team during busy holiday shopping days Pitch in wherever needed to keep the store running smoothly What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is: Friendly, warm and comfortable starting conversations with customers Someone who truly enjoys helping people Dependable, punctual and responsible Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment Detail-oriented and able to take initiative Willing to learn about our products so they can confidently help customers Able to work independently as well as part of a small team Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful, but a great personality, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important Position Requirements Must be available to work weekends Availability for approximately 15-20 hours per week Must be able to stand and move around the store for extended periods Must be able to bend, reach, unpack merchandise and perform typical retail tasks Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Flexibility during the busy holiday shopping season is important About The Rustic Barn At The Rustic Barn, we believe shopping should feel personal.
