Uses various sales platforms to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders and to make changes on customer purchase orders. Supports the Sales Department team.
Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
Performs semi-routine duties including communicating with customers, sales representatives, and intercompany personnel. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
Strong communication skills.
Organizational skills necessary to follow through on regular requests for information and select appropriate responses.
JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Clerk is responsible for answering incoming sales calls and providing appropriate disposition of calls. Inputs quotes and orders into sales systems and relays pertinent order information to customers. Works within sales department in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers. Basic data entry activities and filing as needed. Supervised by Sales Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ENTRY LEVEL - WITH SUPERVISION
Receives requests for quotation, purchase orders, changes orders, adjustments, and cancellations from sales team. Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.Uses various sales platforms to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders and to make changes on customer purchase orders. Supports the Sales Department team.
Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as assigned.Performs semi-routine duties including communicating with customers, sales representatives, and intercompany personnel. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
Business Contacts:
Responsible for maintaining good customer relations. Generally deals with representatives and customers concerning matters that require tact and resourcefulness. Contacts with other personnel including engineering, accounting, manufacturing, shipping, receiving, and tools departments.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
General office and computer skills including some knowledge of Microsoft Office.Strong communication skills.
