Job Description

Job Overview The Door Shop Lead is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the door fabrication and assembly area. This role ensures safety, quality, and production efficiency while leading a team of shop employees. The Door Shop Lead oversees workflow, coordinates with other departments, and maintains a productive work environment in alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of door shop workers, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance. Ensure timely and accurate production of pre-hung doors, custom door assemblies, and related components. Interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide production. Monitor equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation. Maintain inventory of raw materials and coordinate with purchasing when supplies are low. Enforce safety procedures and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications. Train and mentor team members to improve skill sets and overall shop performance. Collaborate with management to improve production processes and workflow efficiency. Record daily production output, downtime, and other key performance metrics.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in door manufacturing or a millwork environment. At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a production setting. Strong knowledge of door components, building materials, and shop machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical documentation. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Forklift certification is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods. Lift up to 75 lbs regularly. Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment. Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures typical of a wood shop environment. Benefits (if applicable): Health, dental, and vision insurance
