Job Description
Discount Smoke is Carlinville's top-rated vape, tobacco, hemp, and liquor shop. We carry a huge selection of products — from vapes and e-cigarettes to liquor, beer, hemp, glass pipes, and more — and we're known for genuinely great customer service. We're looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our team part-time. What you'll do: Greet customers and help them find the right product — whether that's a vape, a bottle of liquor, or something new they want to try Ring up sales and handle cash and card transactions accurately Check IDs and follow all Illinois age-verification laws for tobacco and alcohol sales Keep the store clean, organized, and fully stocked Build product knowledge over time so you can make solid recommendations Build relationships with regular customers (in a town like Carlinville, that happens naturally) What we're looking for: Must be 21 years of age or older (required by Illinois law for tobacco and liquor sales) Reliable and punctual — this is a small team and we depend on each other Friendly personality and comfortable talking to people of all ages Available to work evenings and weekends Basic cash-handling and math skills Willing to learn about our products — vapes, hemp , tobacco, and liquor/beer Able to stand for extended periods during a shift Nice to have (but not required): Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience Knowledge of vape devices, hemp products, or spirits Experience with POS systems What we offer: Competitive hourly pay Flexible scheduling that works with your life Laid-back, positive work environment On-the-job training — no experience needed, just a good attitude Supportive owners who are hands-on and easy to work with
