The Wide Format Print Technician reports directly to the Production Manager and owns print output in the studio: taking approved files from preflight through RIP, print, lamination, cutting, and final quality check. This position plays a critical role in the franchise's profit and margin potential through fast turnaround, consistent color, right-the-first-time output, and efficient use of materials. Sales, design, and installation are handled by other team members. Your job is that what comes off the printer is correct. Responsibilities Preflight incoming customer and designer files for resolution, bleed, color mode, fonts, dimensions, and overprint before anything goes to press Set up and run jobs through the RIP (ONYX): profiles, nesting, tiling, cut paths, and color management Operate and maintain HP Latex, Canon Colorado, Esko XN24 and similar wide-format printers, plus laminators and plotters, including daily checks, media loading, calibration, and routine maintenance Print, laminate, contour cut, weed, mount, and finish vehicle, wall, window, floor, and rigid signage jobs to spec Match color to brand standards and prior runs; own reprints when output is not right Check every finished piece against the work order before it leaves production Track ink and media, flag reorders, and minimize waste Install smaller graphics such as wall decals and window films as needed Pack, label, and prep completed orders for pickup, shipping, or delivery Update job status in CoreBridge so the front desk always knows where a job stands Requirements 2+ years operating wide-format inkjet in a commercial print or sign environment Hands-on experience with HP Latex, Canon Colorado, or comparable roll-to-roll printers (Roland, Mimaki, Epson SureColor) Working knowledge of RIP software (ONYX, Caldera, Versaworks, Fiery XF, or similar) Prepress and preflight skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Knowledge of vinyl films, laminates, substrates, and finishing techniques Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods Preferred Qualifications Flatbed or UV printing experience Contour cutting and cut-path setup (i-cut, Graphtec, Summa, or Esko) Experience with vehicle wrap panel layout and templates Familiarity with CoreBridge or similar print MISBenefits
