Position Background:

A retail associate at Palermo Bakery greets customers, answers questions about products, and takes care of customer needs with a positive attitude. When not working with customers, the employee is responsible for packaging product efficiently and neatly for our wholesale partners like Mariano's, Pete's Fresh Market, and more. We are looking for someone with high energy who enjoys working with a fun, engaged, and diverse team of members. Essential Job Functions Greet customers as they arrive at the bakery and respond to their questions regarding products. Recommend and assist customers in choosing cakes, pastries, cookies, bread, pizzas, pies and specialty products according to their specific tastes. Obtain phone orders and fill orders. Process cash or credit payments. Prepare merchandise for display in a way that promotes sales. Pack wholesale baked goods in appropriate packaging and label them with prices and expiry information. Maintain knowledge of current products, sales, promotions, and policies. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Perform any other general bakery duties as assigned. Understand inventory needs and prioritize items that need to be made or packaged to fulfill wholesale orders. Package cakes, cookies, pastries, etc. in an efficient and neat way. Put packaged products into their designated areas

• storage racks, freezers, etc.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Follow food safety protocol as outline by

by rotating stock, properly sanitizing, etc.

Job Specifications:

• Minimum Requirements Ability to work respectfully on your own and as a team player.

Eager to expand knowledge and eventually take initiative. Show up to all scheduled shifts and on-time. High school graduate. Available to work during holiday time periods, including

ALL OF OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, AND DECEMBER.

• Preferred Customer service experience.
• Physical Requirements Ability to stand for the duration of a shift.

Ability to lift items that may weight up to 40 Lbs. Ability to speak English to be able to provide customer service.
