Though Birkenstock is our core brand, we also carry some complimentary footwear brands and a growing selection of handbags. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff, extensive inventory and complete repair services attract customers from across the region, while customers nationwide shop our website and place orders by phone. Customers love our products, and by extension, they love us for providing those products in a professional, educational and entertaining manner. Although busy and challenging, the job is fun and personally rewarding. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have excellent listening and communication skills, along with a kind and helpful attitude. Listening is more important than talking. You will need to listen, observe and empathize with our customers' needs, then combine that with a broad understanding of our products to create happy solutions. Attention to detail is essential. We handle hundreds of orders weekly. Each order is important to that customer. Basic computer skills are required. We use an iPad for our point of sale system and iMacs for other tasks. We are a small team. We depend upon each other to be reliable and responsible, and to assist and cover for each other when needed. We do not work on commission. We want everyone who works at Footprints to wear and believe in the great footwear we sell. We offer a generous employee discount. Being in reasonably good shape is helpful. You will be on your feet much of your shift and you will need to go up and down stairs frequently. We are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Saturday is our busiest day, so being available for most Saturdays is essential. When possible, we try to give each sales associate one Saturday off per month, but we all work most Saturdays. This is a great summer job for a high school or college student. Some hours may be available once the fall semester begins. Hours and Compensation We are currently looking for part time help, 15-20 hours per week. Starting pay is $16 per hour. Depending upon the skills, effort and talent you bring to the job, year-round employment is possible and there are opportunities for advancement in both responsibility and pay.
