Seasonal Farmers Market Team Member Lilac Hedge Farm Jefferson, MA Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Seasonal From $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Outdoor work Packing Driver's License Attention to detail Manual handling Van delivery (delivery method) Full Job Description Overview We are seeking reliable, friendly, and energetic individuals to join our seasonal farmers market team. This is a once a week position on Saturdays, from 6:30a.m-3p.m that runs until October 31st. Interested candidates must be available Saturdays through October. In this position you will create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers and ensure the smooth operation of the market. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for local food and community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service:
Greet and assist market customers, answer questions about the farm, products, and special sales/promotions.
Market Operations:
Monitor the market environment to ensure a clean, safe, and organized atmosphere. Assist in setting up tables, tents, signs, and other market items.
Payment & Transactions:
Facilitate sales by collecting payments for goods from customers (cash, card, SNAP).
Promotions & Engagement:
Promote market specials, monthly product promotions and upcoming events at our Home Farm.
DUTIES:
Arriving at our farm in Holden to load a market vehicle with supplies and then arriving at the market an hour in advance to set up before the market opens. Packing/Loading/Unloading vehicle for market and driving to the market. Setting up, and breaking down market displays. Filling out market logs accurately. Providing management with feedback regarding the market and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a valid drivers license and be comfortable driving a van in the Boston area. Previous experience in customer service or retail is a plus. Punctuality and reliability is a must Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to problem solve. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team or independently. Interest in local food, agriculture, and supporting small businesses is highly desirable.
SCHEDULE
Saturdays, from 6:30a.m-3p.m that runs until October 31st. Interested candidates must be available Saturdays through October.
COMPENSATION
