Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Garden Department Retail Sales Associate to join our team. Someone with a green thumb and previous plant care experience is ideal. We are looking for someone who can help maintain our plant area during the spring and fall months, and throughout the garden department for the rest of the year. Your enthusiasm for gardening and retail will help drive sales and foster customer loyalty. Duties Assist customers in selecting garden products, plants, tools, and related merchandise with enthusiasm and expert knowledge Conduct product demonstrations and provide advice on plant care and gardening techniques Maintain attractive merchandising displays to showcase seasonal and popular items Stock shelves accurately, organize inventory, and ensure the garden department is clean and inviting. Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Provide excellent customer service by answering questions via phone or in person while practicing professional phone etiquette Experience Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a grocery store or hardware/garden center environment Experience with gardening and plant care a must. Ability to perform merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays effectively Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a bonus for serving diverse customers Experience conducting product demos or upselling to enhance customer engagement is desirable Knowledge of gardening products or outdoor living items is desirable.
