This is a part-time role, with an hourly wage of $16.75 per hour. Hours per week can fluctuate depending on candidate situation and company need. As a Merchandise and Retail Intern, you will consistently provide best-in-class customer service to Hearts of Pine fans through proactive and reactive relationship-building strategies. You will be an expert in what it means to be a part of the Hearts of Pine Retail team and part of the greater Maine community by sharing your knowledge about the team and our products - educating, informing, and inspiring. You will offer information to the customer on current merchandise assortment, events, and execute operational processes effectively and efficiently. Your goal is to bring the Hearts of Pine to life for our customers through our best in class merchandise. An ideal candidate is a hardworking, team-oriented individual who is all about providing customer service and operational excellence. This person will be an integral part of the overall Hearts of Pine Merchandising team, and will deliver best-in-class services and experiences for all local and visiting fans.

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service while sharing Hearts of Pine knowledge Engage customers with product knowledge and recommendations Assist with daily store operations, including sales transactions and merchandising Process inventory shipments and prep product for sales floor display Work collaboratively with the team to create a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience Work nights/weekends as necessary, especially on the dates of the club's 18 home games Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications (Skills/Capabilities): A customer-focused mindset with a passion for engaging with people Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to learn and articulate company history and product details Comfort using a point-of-sale system Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a customer-facing role preferred A team player with a can-do attitude who's willing to jump in and support as needed Passion for soccer and an understanding of soccer fan culture is preferred Passion for Maine and an understanding of its people is preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
