Job Description
Job Summary The Bayberry Group, The Homestead, is seeking a highly motivated individual for our Group Sales Team.
The successful candidate will have:
a passion for sales, exemplary people skills, and an excellent ability to be detailed, organized, and timely. responsible for sales in the Wedding, Corporate, and Events market segment, as well as the handling of their coordination. They will work closely with our other members of the Group Sales & Banquets team to deliver exceptional experiences. The Homestead is a year-round resort property in Glen Arbor, MI. We offer skiing, golf, spa, salon, pools, roughly a mile of frontage of Sleeping Bear Bay, meetings, real estate brokerage, weddings, and onsite dining/catering. Responsibilities- Promote, sell, and coordinate to the Wedding, Corporate, and Events market segment, including but not limited to: Accommodations, Food & Beverage, Recreational Activities and off-premises services.
- Achieve personal and team quotas.
- Assist the Group Sales & Banquet, Food & Beverage, and Recreation Associates in carrying out their tasks by providing accurate, detailed, and timely information in the agreed upon format.
- Attend weekly Banquet Event Order meeting with the purpose of communicating necessary information regarding each group and their planned functions.
- Attend pre-event meeting with the guest to obtain approval on set-up of the banquet and meeting facilities, accept décor, and confirm event details.
- Maintain accurate, detailed files (electronic and paper) for existing and prospective guests.
- Provide thorough, accurate and timely sales reports on the proscribed forms on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as monitor and report on client satisfaction. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred (but not required) with a concentration in hospitality, sales, event management, logistics, and/or business management.
- 1-3 years of Sales, Event Coordination, or equivalent work experience in a related business or other relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office, Delphi, Salesforce, and other event planning tools and software.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong prioritization skills, with ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of quality work product.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally and meet individual and team deadlines.
- Superior ability to collaborate and problem solve.
- A strong desire to win and elevate those around you.
- Exceptional judgement and willingness to learn our policies and procedures and conduct oneself accordingly.
- Must have the flexibility to work a diverse schedule as dictated by operations.
- Must have a valid Michigan Driver's license.
