Waterford, MI Job Type:
Full-Time Are you passionate about photography, driven by customer connection, and excited to share gear knowledge? We are looking for a motivated, outgoing, and personable team member to join our camera shop. In this role, you will do much more than basic retail—you will help creators find the right tools, evaluate pre-owned gear, and actively educate our local community.
What You'll Do Drive Sales & Service:
Deliver tailored product recommendations to photographers, videographers, and hobbyists of all skill levels.
Buy, Sell & Trade:
Inspect, test, and evaluate pre-owned camera equipment for trade-ins and inventory purchases.
Educate & Inspire:
Share your photography knowledge daily through one-on-one customer guidance, gear demos, and community workshops.
Merchandising:
Keep product displays organized, stocked, and visually engaging.
What We're Looking For People Skills:
An outgoing, empathetic, and engaging personality with strong communication skills.
Base Photography Knowledge:
Solid understanding of core camera concepts (exposure triangle, lenses, basic gear types).
Growth Mindset:
High motivation and a strong willingness to continually learn new gear systems and vintage equipment.
Sales Drive:
A proactive approach to customer service and meeting store goals.
Schedule & Availability Requirements Saturdays:
Must be available to work 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM .
Weekdays:
Must be available 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (includes one set weekday off per week). Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of retail, customer service, or sales experience. Hands-on experience buying, selling, or evaluating used camera gear. Active photography or videography portfolio/hobby. Benefits & Perks Competitive hourly wage + employee discounts on gear. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
