Job Description

Job Summary We are a large northern Minnesota wholesaler looking to fill the position of Route Sales Professional. We are a family owned full service distributor with traditional values and are looking for employees who are motivated to have a long career with us. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for managing engaging with customers, growing sales, and ensuring products are merchandised effectively. Duties Our sales professionals will travel daily throughout the territory (approx. 250-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MN) to maintain and grow current business, as well as cold-call and secure new business with convenience stores, supermarkets, resorts, restaurants, and catering operations.
On-Site Consultations :
Visit existing accounts regularly to audit inventory, pitch new product lines, and optimize ordering frequencies.
Order & Price Management :
Negotiate volume pricing, secure sales contracts, and input orders via mobile CRM software while in the field.
Visual Merchandising :
Partner with grocery managers to secure prime shelf placement, build point-of-sale displays, and maximize brand visibility.
Product Demonstrations :
Conduct live product cuttings, tastings, and menu consultations directly in customer kitchens or retail spaces.
Delivery Liaison :
Resolve delivery, product quality, or short-shipment issues on-site to maintain strong customer relations.
Collections :
Monitor account credit statuses and assist the finance team by collecting delinquent payments during routine site visits. Experience and Qualifications Sales experience is preferred, however self management and motivation is valued and a professional candidate that is willing to learn are welcome to apply.
Experience :
2+ years of business-to-business (B2B) outside sales experience is preferred, ideally within food distribution, hospitality, or retail grocery.
Mobility :
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle for daily territory travel and valid insurance.
Self-Management :
Proven ability to work independently in the field and effectively manage a daily travel schedule.
Communication :
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly with convenience store owners, chefs, and kitchen managers.
Tech Literacy :
Ability to utilize mobile sales apps, route-planning tools, and CRM software on smartphones or tablets.
Physical Demands :
Capability to travel long distances daily and lift up to 40 pounds of product samples or display materials.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
