Uptown Cheapskate Woodbury is a buy, sell, trade fashion store for young adults. We carry thousands of mall and luxury brands at up to 80% off regular retail prices. We aim to make fashion more sustainable by giving life to gently used clothes that aren't being worn anymore. We're looking for full-time and part-time Buyers and are willing to train you on everything you need to know!
Buyer Responsibilities:
As a Buyer at Uptown Cheapskate , you'll help curate the inventory our customers love by identifying current styles, trending brands, and great resale finds. This is a fast-paced, customer-facing role that combines fashion knowledge, decision-making, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Select and price items based on brand, style, condition, age, current trends, and customer demand . Research brands, styles, original retail prices, and resale values when needed. Identify counterfeit, damaged, outdated, or otherwise unsuitable merchandise. Provide friendly, confident customer service while explaining the buying process and offers. Process incoming inventory efficiently, including sorting, pricing, tagging, and preparing merchandise for the sales floor. Maintain organized and efficient Buy Counter and processing areas. Assist customers on the sales floor and at checkout as needed. Help maintain merchandising, recovery, cleanliness, and overall store presentation. Follow all store buying, cash-handling, loss-prevention, and operational procedures. Work collaboratively with the team in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment . No professional buying experience? Fashion knowledge, strong attention to detail, confidence making decisions, and a willingness to learn are just as important—we provide training on our buying and pricing process.
