Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. You will play a key role in enhancing the shopping experience through effective communication, product knowledge, and sales techniques. Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are displayed attractively and are readily available for customers. Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales. Utilize upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities and increase overall store revenue. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices at all times. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries via phone. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred, particularly in a grocery store setting. Supervising experience is a plus, as you may be required to assist in training new staff members. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as this can enhance communication with our diverse customer base. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with customers and team members. Basic math skills are necessary for processing transactions and managing cash handling duties.
