•$25.00 per hour Based on experience About Us Nightshade is Asheville's first zero-proof cocktail lounge, offering a curated, nightlife experience without the alcohol. Located in the vibrant South Slope neighborhood, we serve elevated zero-proof drinks in a space that champions creativity, connection, and inclusion. Job Summary We're seeking a friendly, responsible, and attentive Door Person & Light Security team member to be the first face guests see when entering Nightshade. This person will help maintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment during our busiest hours. Responsibilities Greet and check in guests at the door Check IDs and maintain entry policies (21+ only) Manage door line and guest flow efficiently Monitor surroundings and guest behavior De-escalate any disturbances or safety concerns calmly and professionally Support event logistics during special performances and late-night programming Work collaboratively with bar staff and management Qualifications Experience in hospitality, security, nightlife, or customer service preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Calm under pressure and confident in handling conflicts or high-traffic scenarios Able to stand for extended periods and work late-night shifts Must be 21+ Availability on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights required Benefits Competitive pay: $22
