Job Description

Location:
Charlotte, NC (local travel to indoor & outdoor pop-up fundraising events) Position Summary We're hiring an energetic, outgoing Team Member Trainee to join our fundraising team and represent our non-profit partners at pop-up fundraising events across the Charlotte area. This entry-level role focuses on community engagement, fundraising sales, and delivering a friendly, professional brand experience at both indoor and outdoor events.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet, engage, and build rapport with customers and community members; clearly and enthusiastically communicate our non-profit partners mission and fundraising purpose. Drive fundraising sales through direct asks, merchandise sales, or donation collection. Set up, maintain, and break down pop-up booths, tables, signage, and product displays. Educate attendees about programs, benefits, and ways to get involved; answer basic questions or connect to staff/support when needed. Record sales, donations, and leads accurately Maintain a professional, friendly appearance and positive attitude during all shifts. Follow event safety rules, site-specific guidelines, and any weather-related procedures for outdoor events. Report daily results and feedback to event coordinators; suggest improvements for outreach and sales tactics.
Qualifications:
0-2 years customer service, retail, fundraising, or sales experience preferred; training provided. Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable initiating conversations with strangers. Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and standing for extended periods. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends; reliable transportation within the Charlotte area. Basic smartphone/tablet proficiency Positive attitude, team player, punctual, and professional. Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising, event staffing, retail, or hospitality Preferred (not required)
