A Retail Sales Associate sells merchandise or products in a retail store. Provides information about store merchandise, assists customers with finding items and encourages sales.
Weekends Holidays Responsibilities and Expectations:
The purpose of this job description is to give new employees an overview of what is expected of a Sales Associate at T&C General Store. This is not all-inclusive; the position may be asked to perform other duties.
Store Operations:
Check out customers Count down cash drawer at end of shift Make safe drops Prepare shift reports accurately Stock refrigerator units with drinks and perishable goods Stock and merchandise products Keep work area neat, clean, and organized Clean front/face and restock shelving, displays, and coolers as needed Clean coffee bar/snack area, equipment, and stock as needed Keep coolers and cooler doors clean Cleanliness of bathrooms, kitchen area, and customer facing areas must be maintained throughout the day Follow company policies and procedures as well as state and local laws concerning alcohol, tobacco, money orders, and lottery sales. Periodically check the towels and windshield wash and pumps for customers and ensure they are stocked during shift As needed, bag and remove garbage from inside store and at fuel islands, deposit into main dumpster Assist with food service prep, cooking, stocking, and cleaning
Customer Service:
Ensure prompt, efficient, and polite customer service. Greet and thank all customers in a timely and professional manner. Dress is casual, clean clothing, closed-toe shoes, hair pulled back Wear blue T&C vest
Job Specifications:
Ability to follow instructions Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and holidays Ability to work independently Variable employees are hired with the knowledge that the company cannot initially determine how many hours the employee will work per week
Physical Requirements:
Intermittent sitting, standing, bending, and able to lift up to 50lbs Exposure to cold temperatures when stocking refrigerator units
