Retail Sales & Office Associate The Fire House Stove Shoppe — Epping, New Hampshire Position Overview The Fire House Stove Shoppe is seeking an experienced Retail Sales & Office Associate to join our showroom team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, has a strong retail background, and is comfortable handling both sales and office responsibilities. The successful candidate will assist customers with product selection, maintain accurate sales and customer records, support showroom operations, and help keep orders and communications organized. Experience with fireplaces, wood stoves, pellet stoves, or heating products is helpful but not required. We can teach the right person about our products. Strong retail, computer, and organizational skills are essential. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide professional, friendly service in our showroom. Help customers select fireplaces, wood stoves, pellet stoves, inserts, and related accessories. Learn product features, benefits, installation requirements, and available options. Prepare customer quotes, sales orders, invoices, and supporting documentation. Process payments and operate the point-of-sale system accurately. Follow up with customers regarding quotes, product availability, orders, and scheduling. Answer incoming telephone calls and respond professionally to customer inquiries. Assist with email communications and online customer requests. Enter and maintain accurate customer, sales, and product information. Use QuickBooks to assist with invoicing, payments, customer records, and basic account functions. Use Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and related programs. Assist with inventory counts, product ordering, and order tracking. Communicate with manufacturers, distributors, installers, and service personnel. Stock merchandise and maintain an organized, attractive showroom. Create and update product displays, pricing, signs, and promotional materials. Assist with returns, exchanges, warranty paperwork, and customer service concerns. Help maintain an organized and professional retail and office environment. Required Qualifications Previous retail sales or customer-service experience. Experience using Microsoft 365 , including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Working knowledge of QuickBooks . Strong written and verbal communication skills. Professional telephone and email etiquette. Ability to prepare accurate quotes, invoices, and customer paperwork. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage several customers, orders, and priorities at the same time. Comfortable learning technical products and explaining them clearly to customers. Dependable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a showroom, home-improvement, appliance, building-material, furniture, or specialty retail environment. Experience with inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, or vendor communications. Familiarity with office telephone systems. Basic understanding of computer networking and office equipment. Experience with POS systems and cash handling. Knowledge of fireplaces, wood stoves, pellet stoves, gas appliances, or heating equipment. About the Position This is more than a basic cashier position. We are looking for someone who can build relationships with customers, learn our products, maintain accurate documentation, and help guide a sale from the initial showroom visit through ordering and installation. The right person will be organized, approachable, comfortable with technology, and willing to learn the hearth industry.
