In this role, you will be responsible for mixing plastisol and water-based inks to exact Pantone and customer color specifications, maintaining accurate batch records, and keeping the ink room organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Mix plastisol and water-based inks to Pantone and customer color specifications using established formulas and a digital scale Operate the ink mixing machine and hand-finish each batch to full uniformity Log every batch accurately including formula, weight, job number, date, and remaining volume Label and store all mixed inks and maintain a clean, organized ink room with FIFO rotation Track ink, pigment, and additive inventory; flag low stock and reorder needs promptly Pull and stage inks in advance for the daily print schedule Enter batch and inventory data accurately into spreadsheets and web-based systems Reclaim and consolidate leftover ink to minimize waste and scrap Keep buckets, scales, tools, and work surfaces clean and orderly throughout the shift Follow all safety, PPE, and chemical handling procedures at all times
Requirements:
Bilingual in English and Spanish required Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with strong measurement and record-keeping abilities Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, data entry, and web-based applications Ability to read and follow written formulas and perform accurate basic math Willing to work in a hands-on environment where ink on hands and clothing is part of the job Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, handle five-gallon buckets, and stand for a full shift Reliable attendance — production depends on ink being ready on schedule Prior screen printing, ink mixing, paint mixing, or laboratory batching experience preferred Familiarity with Pantone color matching systems preferred Experience maintaining inventory or production records in a software system preferred
