Retail Associate & Tasting Room Host Fulkerson Winery - Dundee, NY Position Overview Fulkerson Winery is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by leading engaging wine tastings, supporting retail sales, and assisting with fresh fruit sales and u-pick operations during the harvest season. The ideal candidate is personable, reliable, and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that blends hospitality, agriculture, and direct-to-consumer sales. Key Responsibilities Wine Tasting & Guest Experience Host guided wine tastings, educating guests on Fulkerson wines, vineyard practices, and regional characteristics Create a welcoming, memorable experience that reflects the Fulkerson brand and family heritage Provide personalized recommendations to drive wine sales, wine club sign-ups, and repeat visitation Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked tasting room environment Retail Sales Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems Assist customers with wine, merchandise, and specialty product purchases Promote featured wines, seasonal offerings, and promotions Support inventory management, restocking, and merchandising displays Fresh Fruit & U-Pick Operations (Seasonal) Assist customers with fresh fruit purchases (grapes, apples, and seasonal offerings) Provide guidance and support for u-pick guests, including safety and picking instructions Monitor u-pick areas for quality, safety, and overall guest experience Weigh, package, and process fruit sales efficiently Qualifications Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred Strong communication skills with a friendly, engaging presence Interest in wine, agriculture, or local food systems (willing to learn required) Ability to multitask and remain composed during busy periods Comfortable working outdoors during harvest season Must be able to lift 25-40 lbs and stand for extended periods Availability on weekends, holidays, and during peak harvest season What We Offer A collaborative, team-oriented environment within a family-owned winery Opportunities to learn about wine, viticulture, and the Finger Lakes region Competitive hourly pay plus potential incentives Employee discounts on wine and farm products Why Join Fulkerson Winery?
