Job Description
Join our small, family business and become part of the growing wine industry in our region! Water Street Wines & Spirits is currently seeking an energetic, friendly, and motivated individual to help grow our store and improve our customers' experiences through hospitality and education when visiting our store. We are currently looking for a part-time store clerk to work around 12-18 hours per week, year-round. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, able to lift at least 40 pounds, reliable transportation to the store, and have at least a basic knowledge of wine & spirits. Hours are flexible, but evenings are a must and Saturdays are preferred. We are looking for someone interested in wine and spirits, and further educating themselves in adult beverages and our growing industry. Retail & sales experience is a plus, and candidates with backgrounds in the local wine industry are highly desirable. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Working a point of sale & increasing person-to-person sales Closing/Opening the store reliably & handling cash Assisting customers in finding products and carry-outs Re-stocking shelving and displays General cleanliness of the store Assisting in new ways to drive sales Pay is hourly and dependent on experience and knowledge. Depending on growth, drive, and reliability, this position may have the chance of supplementing a professional wine education through a recognized program.
