Duties Greet visitors warmly, providing information about exhibits and upcoming events to enhance their experience Assist with the setup, management, and breakdown of special events and exhibitions within the gallery space Manage guest inquiries both in person and via phone or email, delivering outstanding customer service Handle transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales, merchandise, or event bookings Support outdoor work activities related to event setups or gallery maintenance as needed

Skills Gallery Stewardship:

Open and close the gallery space punctually; maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for visitors throughout the afternoon.

Visitor Engagement:

Greet all guests warmly, provide insightful information about current exhibitions, individual art pieces, and featured artists.

Sales & Transactions:

Process artwork sales accurately using our Point of Sale (POS) system, handle inquiries regarding pricing, and coordinate basic shipping or pickup details with buyers.

Security & Oversight:

Monitor the gallery floor to ensure the safety and integrity of all displayed artwork and gallery property.

Administrative Support:

Track daily visitor counts, manage local mailing list sign-ups. Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales, customer service, or a hospitality environment is preferred. A passion for or background in visual arts, art history, or design is a strong plus. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in the gallery space. Strong basic tech literacy to comfortably operate a iphone-based POS system and process card transactions.

Professional Presentation:

Ability to maintain a polished, smart-casual, or artistic-professional appearance that reflects the neat, welcoming aesthetic of the gallery.
