MY
Madeleine Yurchuk, Producer
Drowning
Job Description
Casting "Drowning," a short student film.
Production states:
"My generation is stuck in a loop of comparison and jealousy. We battle with insecurity, anxiety, and constant self-doubt. There's nowhere this is more prevalent than in sport, a place where raw skill, dedication, and strength pits people against each other. With 10 years of competitive swimming experience, I know firsthand how cut-throat sports fill you with doubt. In the water, you're isolated, with nothing but your thoughts. Is everyone better than me? Am I falling behind? Doubt turns to fear. What if it's true? When everyone from coaches to parents to your own teammates is comparing and judging your abilities, being stuck with your thoughts becomes a nightmare. I think fear is the strongest human emotion, which is why psychological horror is the best genre to tell this story. When we are afraid, everything becomes a potential threat, even the people closest to us. This is the story of how insecurity consumes you."Career Insights for Photo Laboratory Technician
