Job Description

Overview You are the person that greets everyone who comes through the doors. This includes potential guests as well as visitors, donors and Board of Directors. Responsible for phones, messages, walk ins and keeping accurate account of what happens during shift. Checking in and out of guests. Includes a variety of tasks that help maintain the security and safety of the shelter property and guests. This position is either full time or part time. Depending on if someone is willing to work both shifts. It is Sat. & Sun. 8a-4p M, T and Wed. from 4p-12a
GREETING EACH PERSON THAT COMES IN THE FRONT DOOR / ANSWERING PHONES, TAKING MESSAGES, TREANSFERRING CALLS TO THE APPROPRIATE STAFF LINES. GREETING GUEST UPON ARRIVAL
DISTRIBUTING AND COLLECTING APPLICATIONS
DISPERSING APPLICATIONS TO INTAKE DEPARTMENT. GREETING VISITORS
APPROPRIATELY HELPING THEM FIND STAFF OR DEPARTMENT THEY NEED. SEARCHING GUEST BAGS & PURSES UPON ENTRANCE TO FACILITY. ENSURE SOBRIETY & SAFETY OF ALL GUESTS ENTERING THE MISSION. MONITORS SECURITY CAMERAS. ASSISTS INTAKE COORDINATOR & STABILIZATION ADVOCATE WHEN NEEDED. CALLS EMERGENCY TEAM, POLICE OR NEEDED SUPPORT AS REQUIRED. RESPONSIBLE FOR DISPENSING MAIL TO THE APPROPRIATE GUEST. COMMUNICATES WITH ADVOCATES ANY ACTIVITY OR BEHAVIORS THAT REQUIRE AITENTION. ROUNDS OF THE BUILDING FOR SAFETY, INCLUDING DORMITORY & LOCKER SEARCHES. ATTENDS WEEKLY STAFF MEETINGS. CONTRIBUTES TO THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE MISSION'S SERVICE TO ITS GUESTS BY OFFERING SUGGESTIONS AND PARTICIPATING AS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF A GUEST CARE TEAM. KEEPING LOGS OF EMERGENCY CALL OUTS & PASS DOWN COMMUNICATIONS. COMPLETES INCIDENT REPORTS AND MAINTAINS LOGS OF ALL INCIDENTS. REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED Experience with and knowledge concerning the community-based setting and mental health population is preferred. Excellent verbal communication skills Friendly and Welcoming demeanor Ability to solve client issues in a friendly and timely fashion. Excellent verbal communication skills Availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends & holidays. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills in order to work with guests, hospital staff and various community agencies. De-escalation and crisis intervention techniques. Use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines; organize own work, set priorities and meet critical deadlines. Work independently and collaboratively, utilizing and obtaining necessary resources for guests. Communicate effectively and keep proper boundaries with the guests. Need to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Comfortable sharing the gospel & the love of Jesus with guests.
Pay:
$14.50 - $15.25 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 40.0 per week
