Job Description

Description The Part-Time Store Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the Pryor store is clean, organized, well-stocked, and operational. This position assists customers with fabric, trim, wallpaper, remnants, hardware, pillows, and other products while maintaining accurate inventory, processing transactions, and completing daily store procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Open the store and ensure it is fully operational by 8:00 a.m. Perform all store functions and maintain a professional, customer-friendly environment. Greet and communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate service. Pull fabric rolls and trim based on customer selections and accurately cut specified yardage. Perform weekly pillow counts and submit results to the Supervisor for audit. Keep the store clean, organized, straightened, and properly stocked, including overstock areas. Maintain and organize wallpaper and remnant bins, including remnants, trim, hardware, and pillows. Reconcile end-of-bolt tags daily to ensure inventory accuracy. Receive products into store inventory using Square. Partner with Inventory Control to maintain accurate store inventory. Complete end-of-day procedures, including reconciling the cash drawer. Submit required end-of-day paperwork to the Supervisor. Secure the daily deposit in the designated night deposit bag. Remove trash as needed. Sweep floors daily and mop floors monthly or as needed. Clean and restock the public restroom as needed. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping standards. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail or customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of Square is helpful. Knowledge of fabrics and/or home furnishings is preferred. Strong reading and basic math skills. Well organized with strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others. Ability to exercise sound reasoning and independent judgment. Ability to safely lift and handle products weighing up to 70 pounds on a continuous basis.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and climb. The employee must be able to safely lift and handle products weighing up to 70 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. The position requires frequent use of hands for grasping and handling materials, as well as the ability to read, communicate verbally, and maintain visual and auditory awareness throughout the workday. The position may involve exposure to moving machinery, varying temperatures and humidity, dust, fumes, gases, and moderate noise levels.
