POSITION SUMMARY
The Doorman is responsible for providing a warm, polished first and last impression for wedding and event guests, ensuring seamless arrival and departure experiences. This role is essential in creating an atmosphere of exceptional hospitality through attentive, courteous, and guest-focused service. The Doorman will assist in managing guest flow, coordinating with event staff, and anticipating guest needs to support flawless event execution. The Doorman will also perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Arrival & Departure Greets all guests, vendors, and clients with professionalism and enthusiasm upon arrival and departure. Opens doors, assists with entry and exit, and provides direction to event spaces. Coordinates guest flow to prevent congestion and ensure smooth transitions. Assists guests with transportation coordination, including taxis, rideshares, and valet services. Maintains awareness of event timelines to support timely guest arrivals and departures. Event Support Communicates with event coordinators, security, and service staff to ensure alignment on event logistics. Assists with managing guest lists, invitations, or access control as directed. Provides guidance to guests regarding event locations, schedules, and amenities. Anticipates and responds to guest needs, including special accommodations for weddings and formal events. Supports crowd management during peak times such as ceremony start, cocktail hour, and event conclusion. Safety & Security Monitors entry points to ensure only authorized guests and vendors access the event. Observes surroundings and reports any suspicious activity or unsafe conditions to management. Follows all safety, emergency, and security protocols. Assists in emergency situations by directing guests calmly and efficiently. Inventory and Equipment Ensures entry areas, podiums, signage, and guest check-in materials are clean, organized, and properly set. Reports any damaged or missing equipment to management. Maintains cleanliness and presentation of entrance areas at all times. Customer Service/Guest Interaction Provides a welcoming and memorable experience for all guests. Responds promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests. Handles guest concerns with professionalism and escalates issues when necessary. Maintains a calm and composed demeanor in high-volume or high-pressure situations. Employee and Management Interaction Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, event staff, and management. Works collaboratively to ensure event success. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisors. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to assist in other roles as needed. Communication and Professionalism Maintains a polished, professional appearance in accordance with company dress code. Communicates clearly and respectfully with guests, team members, and management. Demonstrates strong situational awareness and attention to detail. Arrives on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts. Upholds company standards, mission, and values at all times.
