Job Description
Job Overview This job is perfect for anyone with an outgoing personality looking for a part time weekend job. We're a small farm / sourdough bread bakery / kombucha business doing farmer's markets all over the area every weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday shifts are available. Basically you report to the farm in the morning, finish your packing your van with cooler items, drive to a farmers market, setup your stand (usually with 1-2 other people), sell for 4 hours, pack up, and come home. A market tent weights approximately 40 lbs so there is a basic level of physical fitness required. We use full sized cargo vans so a clean driving record and the ability to drive a large vehicle is also require. Duties Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their inquiries. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations. Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and promote sales. Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing product displays and ensuring display is stocked appropriately. Utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and improve overall market performance. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Familiarity with retail math concepts is beneficial for managing transactions effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members alike.
