Position Overview FarmerJawn is seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm & Retail Associate to support both our farm operations and Farm Store in West Chester. This is a hybrid position that is primarily focused on farm operations , with scheduled time supporting the retail store and customer experience. The ideal candidate has experience in farming, outdoor labor, produce, grocery retail, or food service and is comfortable moving between hands-on farm work and customer-facing responsibilities. While relevant experience is preferred, FarmerJawn will provide training on farm operations, food safety, equipment, and other responsibilities as needed. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working outdoors, working with fresh produce, connecting with the community, and being part of a dynamic regenerative farming operation. Key Responsibilities Farm Operations

• Assist with planting, cultivating, harvesting, and post-harvest handling of crops.
• Assist with washing, packing, sorting, and preparing produce for distribution.
• Support farm maintenance, including irrigation, fencing, tools, and general infrastructure.
• Assist with soil preparation, composting, mulching, and other regenerative farming practices.
• Safely use basic farm tools and equipment while following established safety procedures.
• Help prepare produce for farmers' markets, retail, wholesale, and other distributions.
• Maintain clean and organized farm work areas.
• Follow all food safety, farm safety, GAP, and organizational SOPs.
• Support farm events, workshops, and educational programming as needed. Farm Store / Retail
• Provide a welcoming and knowledgeable customer experience.
• Set up, restock, and break down Farm Store product displays.
• Receive and organize produce, products, and supplies.
• Monitor produce quality and maintain proper storage and display conditions.
• Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
• Communicate daily needs, inventory updates, and concerns with the team.
• Coordinate with the Farm Team to fulfill farm-to-store produce needs. Ideal Candidate
• Prior farming, agricultural, outdoor labor, produce, grocery retail, or food service experience is preferred.
• FarmerJawn will provide training to help employees learn the necessary farm, retail, food safety, and operational procedures.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain focus during physically demanding tasks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to learn new skills and take direction.
• Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced farm environment.
• Passionate about fresh food, regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and community.
• Comfortable working both behind the scenes on the farm and directly with customers in the store. Schedule & Work Environment
• 15-25 hours per week
• Schedule will include a combination of farm and retail shifts.
• Some early mornings may be required depending on farm needs and the growing season.
• Weekend availability is required.
• At least one weekend per month is required, with additional weekends based on farm and store needs.
• Work is primarily conducted in person and outdoors , with scheduled time inside the Farm Store.
