Job Overview Join our growing team as a Flower Sales Associate and immerse yourself in the prosperous world of exotic Anthuriums. In this energetic role, you will engage with customers on the phone and internet, showcasing stunning cut flowers and living plants. Some business to business leads and scripts are provided for this phone and in person sales job. Based in Pahoa, Happy Green's Nursery has reopened and is organized for maximum growth and success. Sales Associate must be comfortable calling multiple cold calls per day, developing rapport with clients quickly to make productive sales goals. Significant profit is available, but this is a pure commission independent contractor job. Knowledge of Anthuriums or cut flower/florist work helps but any sales experience will be considered. Sales persons need to have an interest in actively learning about products and be ready to share this verbally with customers. Math to make the sales and understand the discounts is necessary, training is available. Candidates must be self motivated, keep accurate records, be available for contact by phone and have a good and positive attitude. This is about love, peace and beauty, it's fun and enjoyable. No chemicals used. Recycled nursery pots. Community focused, let's make our own fortune! Location is either in Pahoa or off site remote work available. Local candidates will have priority, but remote people will be considered, especially interisland. Housing available. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your sales skills, deepen your knowledge of Anthuriums, and help to build a resilient local economy. Nursery is in Pahoa. Pay is 20% commission on phone sales passed to Shipping/fulfillment department which earns 30%. Or 50% for sale and fulfillment to customer . Shipping off island available. Also option to sell from Pahoa location. This is a great opportunity for the right people. Stay at home parent's, physically challenged humans, chronic talkers all welcome, lol. A high standard of ethics is required. Sales rule #1 Be there, show up, make the calls. Sales rule #2 Close sales, get the money. Simple! Scripts, information and Shopify website make this achievable. Duties Assist customers in selecting flowers and plants, offering expert recommendations based on their needs and preferences Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory management Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about floral care, and product features in multiple languages if applicable Support floral design efforts by creating arrangements or assisting customers with custom orders Ensure cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, including proper storage of flowers and gardening tools Experience Previous experience in business to business sales or customer service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for flowers, gardening, and horticulture is essential Knowledge of Anthuriums or floral design enhances your ability to serve customers effectively Familiarity with e-commerce platforms can be a plus for supporting online orders or digital merchandising efforts Multilingual skills are highly valued to communicate effectively with diverse customer bases Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store presentation Excellent communication skills in English are required; additional language skills are a bonus Experience with POS systems, cash handling, retail math, and cashiering will help ensure smooth transactions Join us to cultivate a lively shopping environment where your passion for plants blossoms into rewarding customer interactions!
