Job Description

Marketing & Sales Associate Cynos Express LLC East Rutherford, NJ Job Details Full-time From $40,000 a year 11 hours ago Qualifications YouTube Product marketing Market research Door-to-door Outbound calling Full Job Description Cynos Express LLC is a multicultural, Asian-owned small business building a portfolio of consumer brands across food, beauty, pet care, home, and lifestyle. Our team brings together people and perspectives from China, Korea, and the U.S. We are a small, hands-on company still building our marketing and sales infrastructure from the ground up. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in that environment—someone who can create content, reach out to influencers and customers, participate in events and field promotions, and help us experiment with practical ways to build awareness and generate sales across multiple brands. This is not a position where you will step into an established marketing department with large budgets, agencies, specialized teams, and predetermined campaigns. We are building from the ground up, often with limited resources, and we need someone who finds that environment interesting rather than limiting. The Role We are looking for a hands-on Marketing & Sales Associate who can help coordinate and execute marketing, content, influencer outreach, and direct sales activities across multiple consumer brands. This is not exclusively a desk-based or digital marketing position. On one day, you may be developing and filming social content, contacting influencers, planning a YouTube video, or coordinating a campaign. On another, you may be interviewing people outside, visiting businesses, attending an event, promoting products in person, speaking directly with potential customers, or appearing on camera to present a product. Depending on the campaign and business needs, the team may also conduct outside promotions, local business visits, grassroots marketing, and door-to-door sales or promotional activities. These activities are generally planned and conducted as a team rather than sending an individual out alone. You should be comfortable moving between creative work, communication, coordination, marketing, and direct sales. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes initiative. In a small company with limited resources, we cannot wait for a large budget, agency, or perfectly developed system before trying something. You should be able to work with what is available, generate ideas, test them, learn from the results, and keep moving. Content & Social Media Create and coordinate frequent content across multiple consumer brands and social platforms. Develop ideas and turn them into actual posts, videos, interviews, demonstrations, campaigns, and other content. Help plan, film, and produce short-form social content. Participate in content production both behind and in front of the camera. Appear on camera when appropriate, including product demonstrations, interviews, social videos, livestreams, YouTube content, and show-host style presentations. Help maintain a consistent content pipeline rather than relying only on occasional campaigns. YouTube & Long-Form Content Contribute to longer-form YouTube content, including developing concepts, outlining episodes, preparing interview questions, and writing or organizing basic scripts. Help structure raw ideas and footage into coherent stories that can hold an audience's attention beyond short-form social media. Participate in documentary-style filming and interviews around subjects such as product development, behind-the-scenes processes, customer experiences, events, founder and team stories, and the process of building our brands. Professional-level filmmaking or advanced video editing expertise is not required. However, you should have enough understanding of storytelling, pacing, structure, and audience attention to contribute meaningfully to longer-form video. Influencer & Creator Outreach Research and identify influencers and creators who fit each brand. Build and maintain creator prospect lists. Conduct consistent cold outreach and follow-up through email, social media, and other appropriate channels. Coordinate product seeding, collaborations, creator content, and ongoing relationships. Develop new ways to reach creators even when significant influencer budgets are not available. Influencer outreach is an important part of this position. You should be comfortable initiating contact rather than waiting for opportunities to come to us. Field Marketing & Direct Sales Participate in outside interviews, events, pop-ups, store promotions, community activities, and grassroots marketing. Approach and communicate with people you have not met before. Conduct outreach to local businesses, retailers, organizations, communities, and potential promotional partners. Participate with the team in direct sales and promotional activities when appropriate, including local business visits, in-person product promotion, and door-to-door outreach. Introduce products, explain their value, gather feedback, identify opportunities, and help turn conversations into leads or sales. You should be comfortable hearing "no," learning from the interaction, and moving on to the next opportunity. Marketing Coordination & Execution Help coordinate marketing activities among team members and keep multiple projects moving simultaneously. Work across several consumer brands, each with different products, audiences, positioning, and priorities. Research competitors, trends, creators, retailers, communities, and potential customers. Help develop practical, low-cost ways to generate awareness, engagement, traffic, leads, and sales. Track what we try and help determine what is working, what is not, and what should be changed. Take an idea beyond discussion and help turn it into actual execution. Who we are looking for You have some previous hands-on experience in marketing, sales, content creation, social media, influencer marketing, events, communications, customer-facing work, or a related field. We are not looking for someone whose experience exists only in coursework. You should be able to show examples of things you have actually created, promoted, organized, sold, or helped execute. You are comfortable initiating conversations with people you do not know. You are willing to make cold contacts through email, phone, social media, and in person. You are comfortable participating in direct sales and promotional activities rather than limiting yourself to digital marketing. You are comfortable being on camera or genuinely willing to become comfortable doing so. You have enough writing and storytelling ability to help turn an idea, interview, product-development process, or real-world experience into structured long-form content. You do not need to be a professional filmmaker or screenwriter, but you should be able to help determine what the story is, what should be filmed, what questions should be asked, and how the material can be organized into an engaging YouTube video. You are willing to execute rather than simply suggest. You can pick up the camera, write the message, contact the creator, approach the customer, attend the event, and test the idea yourself. You can work across several brands and projects without needing every individual step to be assigned to you. You are organized enough to coordinate people, deadlines, content, outreach, leads, and follow-ups. You understand that creativity in a small company also requires resourcefulness. A lack of budget should lead to different ideas, not inactivity. You care about commercial results—not only views, followers, or aesthetics. You enjoy building something before there is a clear playbook. You naturally reach out to people rather than waiting for them to come to you. You can move comfortably between a desk, a camera, an event, a store, and a conversation with a stranger. You are comfortable with both creative work and sales. You like having several different projects moving at once. You are comfortable working with limited resources and figuring out practical alternatives. You would rather test an imperfect idea, learn from the result, and improve it than spend weeks discussing it. You want meaningful responsibility early in your career and are comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with a small, growing company. This Role May Not Be a Good Fit If You are looking primarily for a traditional corporate marketing environment with established processes, large budgets, and highly specialized responsibilities. You want a marketing position that is exclusively digital or desk-based. You are strongly uncomfortable with cold outreach, direct sales, appearing on camera, attending events, or approaching unfamiliar people. You do not want to participate in outside promotional or sales activities. You need a large production or advertising budget before you can execute ideas. You prefer to focus on only one narrow area of marketing. You prefer to wait for detailed instructions before beginning each task.
