Full Job Description Party Host & Sales Associate Location:
Bricks & Minifigs -
Issaquah, WA Position Type:
Part-Time, depending on availability and experience About Us Bricks & Minifigs is your one-stop-shop for all things LEGO®, offering a unique retail and event experience. From rare sets to creative builds, we're a destination for LEGO® enthusiasts of all ages. We host birthday parties in-store and are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys running a great party for a group of kids, and who's just as comfortable helping a customer on the sales floor between bookings. Position Overview This role has two parts. On days with a party booked, you're the host: you own the booking from calendar to send-off, and you run the party day-of. On days without one, you're on the sales floor as a regular associate, helping customers, working the register, and keeping the store in shape. Key Responsibilities Party Hosting Manage the party calendar: track bookings, confirm dates and times, and keep the schedule accurate and current. Reach out to each booking family ahead of their party to confirm plans and expectations: guest count, timing, food and cake logistics, add-ons, and store rules, so there are no surprises on party day. Run birthday parties start to finish: greet the family, lead activities and games, manage pacing for a group of kids, and keep the party room on schedule. Set up and break down the party room, including décor, supplies, and any food or cake logistics the family arranges. Handle gift bag assembly and add-ons when a family has purchased them. Act as the point of contact for the booking family from booking through the day of the party, so they can relax and enjoy it. Sales Floor Work the sales floor as a sales associate on non-party shifts: greet and help customers, answer product questions, and process sales at the register. Restock, price, and organize product on the floor. Support daily and weekly store operations and checklists as assigned. Qualifications Comfortable and genuinely enjoys working with kids in a group setting; experience with birthday parties, camps, childcare, or similar youth activities is a plus but not required. Retail, customer service, or cash register experience is a plus. Reliable and punctual, with a schedule that includes weekend availability (parties run mostly Friday through Sunday). Able to work independently during a scheduled shift and handle a room of excited kids with patience and energy. Organized and comfortable reaching out to customers directly by phone or email to confirm plans ahead of time. An interest in LEGO helps, but it's not a requirement. Potential Growth We'd like this role to eventually include running LEGO building workshops and classes for kids, alongside parties. That's not an expectation on day one. It's a direction we want to build toward with the right person, and hours and responsibility can grow from there as party volume and store needs allow. Schedule Consistent weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) is required, since that's when parties are concentrated. Weekday retail shifts are available based on availability and store needs. Pay $18-$20/hour, based on experience. We're looking to fill this role with someone who plans to commit to it, own it, and we're willing to pay toward the top of that range for a candidate with relevant experience and a track record of sticking with a job. What We Offer A fun, LEGO-filled work environment. Flexible scheduling. A path to more hours and responsibility, including workshops, as the role grows. Employee discount on store product. How to Apply Send your resume and a short note to telling us about a time you ran or helped plan and run an activity for a group of kids (a party, a classroom, a camp, a team, anything similar), and what made it go well.
