Job Description

Overview The Walker Course is located on the campus of Clemson University. A public golf facility with 480 members, plus play from public guests, alumni, and students accounting for 48,000 rounds annually. The golf operations staff is comprised of the head golf professional, an assistant golf professional, golf shop manager, golf shop attendants, a retail merchandising director/ buyer, daily starter/rangers, ample labor pool of part-time student employees working in the outside services (carts, range, bag loading), and an independent contractor (retired) PGA teaching professional.
Experience Required POS Sytem experience:
EZ Links/Golfnow and Golf Genius Elementary golf instruction experience Personnel supervision and leadership skills Golf shop counter work experience General computer skills Essential Responsibilities The position will assist the head golf professional in the leadership of a fast pace, golf operation by recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all outside service employees. Position will also manage tee-time reservations, check in golfers, provide private and group golf lessons as directed. Position will support the merchandising efforts in receiving, processing, displaying, sale of golf merchandise, and inventory control measures. Position will manage and assist in oversight of daily league play groups, member tournaments, and special one-day events. Position must have strong supervision and leadership skills with young adults. Must be detail oriented, well organized, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse customer base. Position must be a person of high integrity, reliability, and responsibility. Flexible work week schedule, must be willing and able to work PM shifts, weekends, and minor holidays. Position will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the head golf professional. Benefits Base salary + 100% of lesson income.
