Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Designer/Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. We are an upscale furniture and home decor store in Spearfish, SD. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for design, retail and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Designer/Gallery Sales Associate, you will be expected to be on the floor assisting customers as well as going out to visit builders and Interior designers to secure accounts. You will play a vital role in driving sales, assisting customers with their needs, and ensuring an enjoyable shopping experience. Your responsibilities will include going out to secure more accounts, in home design consultations with customers, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining the overall presentation of the store. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 weekends a month as well as weekdays for a total of 3-4 days a week. Wage dependent upon experience. Duties Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored product recommendations. Going offsite to secure accounts, in home consultations for customers. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions and returns. Demonstrate products through engaging product demos to enhance customer understanding and interest. Utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction. Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure an appealing shopping environment. Assist in stocking shelves, cleaning, dusting, polishing and organizing inventory to ensure product availability. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling policies. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain store operations effectively. Requirements Previous experience in interior design and retail sales or a similar role is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash registers. Proficiency in phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone is desirable. Knowledge of retail math concepts is advantageous for managing sales data and inventory levels.
