Part-Time Retail Associate — Kinderpillar Children's Store Kinderpillar Children's Store in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is seeking a dependable, motivated, and highly organized Part-Time Retail Associate to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a children-focused retail environment but also understands that this is first and foremost a hands-on retail and customer service position . This role is not simply about interacting or playing with children. Team members are expected to actively maintain the store, assist customers, generate sales, demonstrate merchandise, organize inventory, restock products, clean throughout the shift, and correct displays or areas that need attention. The ideal candidate notices what needs to be done and takes initiative without needing constant direction. Job Expectations Excellent organizational skills are essential. You must be able to keep merchandise, displays, inventory, counters, activity areas, and the sales floor clean, organized, stocked, and presentable. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, helping families locate appropriate products, and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Be comfortable selling and recommending products , explaining features and benefits, and demonstrating toys, games, activities, and other merchandise throughout the store. Regularly clean and straighten the store , including cleaning up after children, returning merchandise to its proper location, organizing displays, and maintaining a safe environment. Restock merchandise, assist with incoming inventory, organize back stock, monitor product placement, and help identify items that need replenishment. Maintain displays and be willing to fix, assemble, straighten, or reorganize products and store areas as needed. Handle daily retail responsibilities with honesty, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail. Communicate confidently with customers and coworkers. We are looking for someone who is friendly, motivated, outgoing/outspoken, and comfortable approaching customers rather than waiting for customers to ask for help. Candidates with social media knowledge or experience are preferred and may occasionally assist with store content, product features, promotions, or other basic social media activities. Qualifications Strong customer service skills and excellent organizational abilities are our highest priorities . Merchandising retail experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should be dependable, able to multitask, comfortable staying productive during slower periods, willing to take initiative. and enjoy being around children. Part-Time Position Store Hours 10:00 AM-7:00 PM We are hiring for Saturdays ! Additional days / hours could be flexible and upon arrangement at the time of interview. Some shifts could be 2-4 hours, ideal candidate who lives within 10-20 mins from the location.
