Job Description
Job Summary Big Tex Tractor Co. is one of the largest-volume dealers in Texas and the United States of LS, Bad Boy and Yanmar brand tractors, Bad Boy and Gravely zero turn mowers and Segway UTV's. We are seeking an experienced, energetic and motivated Sales Associate specializing in Tractors, Zero Turn Mowers, UTV's, and related equipment to join our team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind maintaining and increasing our retail sales volume, expanding our customer base, showcasing our products through hands-on demonstrations, and providing exceptional service that builds lasting relationships. Your experience with machinery and equipment, combined with your sales expertise, will help us achieve our growth objectives and deliver outstanding value to our customers. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a product-focused environment while contributing to the success of a leading equipment provider. This is a commission-based position and, as such, we are looking for someone with at least five years of proven sales experience in this industry along with a track record of earning commissions of at least $75k+ annually on a consistent basis. Responsibilities Engage with customers through inside sales efforts, assess & understand their needs, and present customized solutions for tractors and related equipment. Conduct product demonstrations and provide appropriate technical information to showcase features, benefits, and applications of machinery. Develop sales opportunities through existing lead management, new lead generation, and continuous improvement of your sales strategies. Manage existing accounts by providing ongoing support, upselling additional products or services, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Utilize standard office software to track sales activities, customer interactions, and follow-up tasks efficiently. Negotiate pricing within established boundaries, terms, and contracts with customers to close sales effectively. Collaborate with marketing personnel to develop strategies that increase brand awareness and drive retail sales. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of product specifications, industry trends, and competitive landscape to provide expert guidance during customer interactions. Experience Proven experience in inside sales or business development within the machinery, powersports and/or related equipment industries. Strong background in retail, commission-based sales and account management with a focus on technical, big-ticket products. Familiarity with standard office software or similar platforms for managing customer relationships and sales pipelines. Demonstrated success in lead generation & development through self-directed marketing, employer-provided leads and walk-in retail customers. Excellent needs assessment and negotiation skills combined with a down-to-earth customer service-oriented approach to foster long-term customer relationships. Ability to analyze market data and sales metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Prior experience in retail tractor, machinery, powersports, and/or related equipment sales is required; a passion for machinery and equipment is essential.
