Lead Metal Roll Form and Trim Shop Technician

Experienced Roll Form Metal Shop Technician Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Roll Form Metal Shop Technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the production of roll formed metal roofing, wall panels, and trim components. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining roll forming equipment, ensuring product quality, assisting with production workflow, and contributing to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining high quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operate roll forming machines for metal roof panels, wall panels, and trim production Operate and maintain Slitters, De-coilers, Up-enders, Trim Brakes, and Panel Roll Form machines Set up, calibrate, and adjust production equipment to meet manufacturing specifications Read and interpret work orders, panel profiles, trim drawings, and production schedules Perform quality control inspections to ensure products meet company and customer standards Safely handle painted steel coils and raw materials using forklifts, overhead lifting equipment, and material handling systems Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance and mechanical adjustments Monitor material usage and minimize waste during production runs Fabricate and bend trim components using trim brake equipment Assist in coil loading, changeovers, and production line setup Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with safety standards Work closely with management and production staff to maintain workflow efficiency Train and mentor entry-level shop employees when needed Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in roll forming metal roofing, wall panels, and trim systems Proven experience operating Slitters, De-coilers, Up-enders, Trim Brakes, and Panel Roll Form machines Strong knowledge of metal panel profiles, trim fabrication, and production processes Ability to set up machinery and maintain production tolerances Experience handling painted steel coils and sheet metal materials safely Ability to read tape measures, production drawings, and specification sheets accurately Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance abilities Forklift experience preferred Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in an industrial shop environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with computerized roll forming equipment and production software Knowledge of standing seam and exposed fastener roofing systems Leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment OSHA or safety training certifications Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing and production facility Exposure to moving machinery, steel materials, and industrial equipment Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift Indoor shop environment with varying temperatures depending on season Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement Paid holidays and vacation (if applicable) Health benefits (if applicable) Stable long-term employment opportunity with a growing company Ideal Candidate Traits Self-motivated and production driven Takes pride in quality craftsmanship Safety conscious Strong problem-solving abilities Team-oriented with leadership potential Able to adapt in a startup or growing manufacturing environment
